DEATH OF MR. A. L. WILTON
Those who knew him were sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Albert Leonard Wilton at the age of 59. Mr. Wilton was born at Langdon, where his father, a member of the well-known blacksmith family of South Petherwin , who carried on a business, he often came to stay at South Petherwin and for a time after his father's death, he lived with his uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. R. Wilton. ( not very well written but that's an exact copy)
Mr. Wilton was well known at Werrington where for several years he was the organist at the parish church and he also deputised at North Petherwin. With his father, he farmed at Camelford for several years and after his father's death he became clerk to the Fatstock Marketing Corporation in Norwich. Later, for health reasons, he was transferred to Oxford where he became Head Clerk.
After an illness lasting over 12 months, he died at the Thame Hospital, Oxfordshire, on February 6. He was cremated at Oxford on Tuesday and the funeral service is being held at South Petherwin parish church tomorrow (Saturday)
