Chum Creek School SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR -Last Saturday, Chum Creek State School held an AmeriCan Tea in con 'Junction with Education Week. The bazaar was opened b' Cr. L. Smedley, after 'which the tables did a great trade, with gifts, lollies, soft drinks, ice cream, vegetables, and all the things that go to make these func tions so successful. After afternoon tea, the bazaar was closed from 5.30 till - 8, when it was continued as a social, and the balance of the gifts, etc., were soon disposed of. The well -paclked schiool was the scene of en joyable dancing until midnight. En tertainment items included songs and recitations by Mr. H. Danks, Mr. and Mrs. Wood, and Miss Balwyn Black more. Dancing was in the cqpable hands of Mel Blackmore, with music supplied by Vic Blackmore. Great credit goes to Mr. W. Sher lock, the teacher, for· his great or ganizing abilities: he put in a lot of w?rk, and was helped by the ladies of. the district. Chum Creek set a re cord which passed all expectations by raising £48 for the day,. which amount goes toward buyinr a wire less set and projector for .school use. The committee, parents and all ii terested take this. opportunity of thanking all who donated cash, trades men who gave gifts, and all who brought a gift and bought a gift, or otherwise helped make the affair such a success.
