 Also checked earlier dates at Kings Nympton for a marriage of John & Joan. However there are no marriages listed for 1778-1780 (the vicar died in 1777)

 were married in this church by Banns this 26th day of December 1785
 signed John Baker and Joan Cock
 witnesses were John Cock and William Boundy
 on the same day there was the marriage of
 John Lake of the Parish of Chittlehampton and Grace Cock of this parish
 both signed and the witnesses were the same as for Joan
 - presume this was a double wedding of sisters
 - William Boundy signed other entries
