John Horsfall Lindley was witness at Janey's wedding - now it seems that their mother was Hannah Horsfall, it is clear that the "H" was Horsfall. Confirmed now I have met his grandchildren
From the 1867 Will of John Horsfall "Money to be paid for the maintenance and education of any infant child of my daughter". Janey and John Horsfall Lindley received an education at The Friends School in Quaker Lane, Rawdon, Leeds. They were both admitted as boarders on Friday Dec 15th 1882, shortly after the death of their mother. The school, founded 1832, was also accepting children of parents who were not members of the Society of Friends - though charging higher fees (£26 per annum per child). When admitted Janey was already 14, the normal age to be working in most ordinary families
