Lilian Grace THORNE

  General Notes:

I was told that there was another daughter, Lily May, who died around 1885 - I have her birth and death certificates and she was the daughter of Richard Thorne. Her burial at Fremington (which probably gave rise to the suggestion) gave age as 1 and abode as Barnstaple. So not our line. However, the 1911 census does imply that there was another child who had died.

Using the new GRO search facility, that includes mother's maiden name for ALL years
There are 3 births in Barnstaple district between 1878 and 1911 that could fit
Herbert Adrian Thorne, born Dec Q 1888 (unlikely as only a few months after birth of Edwin Thomas)
Reginald Mar Q 1894 5b 434 (no. On 1901 census with parents William and Lucy, nee Blackmore)
Lilian Grace Sep Q 1893 5b 459.
I therefore believed that it was almost certain that this 7th child was Lilian Grace (1893-1893) - Confirmed
