There is no baptism of Martha in Heptonstall, which is only 6-7 miles from Oxenhope
Comparing the probable range of births using the 1841, 1851 censuses and the death register would suggest a birth in the range Jun 1786 to March 1787. This baptism fits well within that range and is the only one on the IGI that is close to Haworth, Oxenhope, Denholme etc.

Two possible marriages found
1806 (ref 271) at Bradford Cathedral - entry 2201 to Sarah Robinson (wrong occupation - Cotton Spinner)
1806 at Haworth to Sally Hartley
Grandson christened his son Jackson Hartley Earnshaw, which suggested likelihood of Sally Hartley being correct
The occupations listed in 1841 and 1851 (Weaver) make it as certain as possible that the Bradford marriage can be discounted

From the Haworth baptism registers, it appears that the Wilsden (including Manuells) family is the same as the Denholme family - moving from Denholme to Wilsden in 1815 (between the births of Sarah and Betty). This is demonstrated by daughter Mary being on the census in Wilsden for 1841 and 1851, but her baptism shows that she was from Denholme. The Haworth baptisms of John & Sally/Sarah that appear to match

There is also an Elizabeth Earnshaw d/o John & Sally baptised at Heptonstall in 1813

Originally thought John might have died before 1844 (when Denholme Independent Church was built - where others of family are buried), but now we know he was living in Wilsden, a Widower, in 1851.

John Earnshaw died at Manuels, Wilsden on 18 April 1858 aged 71 of old age, a Worsted Weaver. The informant was Mary Mitchel of same address (his daughter who had eventually married)

- Films 0990052, 0962177 and 0098526. There is no reference to MIs at Denholme St Pauls, Wilsden parish church, or the Congregational or Wesleyan chapels in Wilsden or at Cullingworth

LDS Film 1657654 (Parish registers for Wilsden 1826 to 1965) was searched for baptisms and burials from 1826 through to 1877 for the name Earnshaw.
This provided, amongst others, the burial information for John and his wife Sarah
