"It turns out that my gg grandmother Sophia Jane Bird, who married James Blackmore in Peoria County, IL in 1854, immigrated with her parents, George and Elizabeth, and sisters from Chulmleigh about the same time that James came over. I don't know if they knew each other in England and maybe immigrated together, or met after they got to Illinois. (Am curious about that.) "
