Article in Besley's Devonshire Chronicle and Exeter News 23 Nov 1841 under the heading Fatal Accident
Three Topsham boats returning from fishing on Friday morning last, a very heavy sea struck and upset one of them on nearing Exmouth beach, whereof the two men Murphy and Drake were drowned, both of Topsham parish.
