There was confusion because the correct birth certificate of Walter Gibson gives his parents as Arthur Joseph and Lavinia (Smith) - father's occupation was Merchant Seaman. But his Marriage certificate shows his father as George Gibson - occupation Mariner

Told that Thomas' wife was Mary Dadd, so this is presumably the marriage.
