The marriage certificate appeared to demonstrate that this was not the same Bessie Gertrude as the father's name and occupation, as well as her age, were wrong. However, on inspecting the witnesses and comparing with Bessie on the 1901 and 1911 censuses it is clear that it is the same Bessie

The cemetery is in Turkey (Gallipoli)
Heading North from Anzac, you will encounter the cemetery after 17.6 kms. on the right, adjacent to the track. Green Hill and Chocolate Hill (which form together Yilghin Burnu) are adjoining eminences, about 52 metres above sea level, which rise almost from the eastern shore of the Salt Lake. The cemetery lies on the east side of the Anzac-Suvla Road.

Email from his grandson says that he died in 1915 during WW1 at Gallipoli
