There was a Charles Stone at Biddacott prior to sale of the Clinton Estate properties in 1958 - as Bill and Elsie moved there in 1958/9 then it is probable that Charles was Bill's father. The marriage appears to back this up as Bill's birth gives mother's name as Smaldon.
