But could it be that he just left Elizabeth and was still alive? There is an entry on http://mariners.records.nsw.gov.au/1857/10/043rws.htm of George Loader, A.B., age 37, British, Crew on the ship European (1476 tons) arriving at Sydney from Suez on 19 October 1857 - on looking at the image the surnames and first names are one entry different. This person was Charles Loader.
