1492 Wakefield Feast of St Peter called Cathedra (took place FEb 22 1492/3
Thomas Carr junior by John Wayde tenant and juror surrendered a messuage and 10 acres of land and meadow in Hepworth to the use of Thomas Lynlay and John Lynlay and William Lynlay, sons of the said Thomas, from Martinmas last to the end of a term of 12 years. Fine 12d

1494 "William Wayde surrendered a messuage and 22 acres of land taken from the waste in Wooldale to the use of Thomas Lynlay"
1512 (entry 61) Wakefield February 25th 1512/13
Reference is made to land lying to the west of "a close of Thomas Lynlay" in Hepworth deyne

1514 entry 38 Wakefield January 26th 1514/15
Thomas Lynlay, by Laurence Roides tenant and juror, surrenders one built messuage and 22 acres of land and meadow, formerly taken from the lord's waste in Wolledale in Holme, to the use of Robert Lynlay son of William Lynlay and the heirs of his body; if none then to Thomas Lynlay brother of the said Robert and the heirs of his body - fine 12sh.

No further proof exists as to ancestors of Thomas.. There is mention of John and Thomas Lindley in the Rolls prior to 1440
