Healesville Guardian (Lilydale Victoria) Saturday 24 Sept 1949 A Chum Creek Bride BLACKMORE - TIPPETT WEDDING. Saturday last was a beautiful day for the very pretty wedding of Mar garMt, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Blacknmore, "Deane," Chem road, Hlealesville, to Horace, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Tippett, of Box Hill. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked lovely in her beau tiful white silk French crrpe frock, made by Mrs. R. Marshall, Chum road. Her lovely veil of embroidered net was held in, place by a coronet of orange blossom, in which was a lovely double horseshoc of diamonds. She carried a bouquet of white aza leas, sweet peas and camelias. She was attended by two school friends, Misses Eileen and Nancy Simpson, both of whom looked very nice in pink and blue respectively. The train-heaerts were Melwyn Blackmore, sister of the bride, and Heather Cathcart, niece of the bride groom. 'rThir frocks were aqua trim med with pink, and their posies were similar to those carried by the brides maids. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. Ernest and Frank Blackmore, cousins of the bride. Rev. Laity, of Lilydahl, and Pastor Lancaster, of the Methodist Church, Healesville, performed the ceremony. Mrs. Mas sey played beautiful wedding music, and Miss Nancy Lancaster sang "I'll Walk Beside You" while the rsgist er was being signed. The church was beautifully decorat ed with lillies and daffodils by Mrs. Lancaster and the Ladies' Guild. The reception of 43 guests was held at the Roadhouse. The beautiful 3-tier ed pink wedding cake was made by the bride's mother, and decorated by her and the brids's aunt, Mrs. Vie Blackmore. The happy couple left by car for their honeymoon, the bride's frock being aqua and white, and she wore a brown tailored coat and brown hat, with accessories. They received many beautiful presents, including a number of cheques.
