John Reynell WALTERS (1921 - 1999) was a member of the well-known wine-making family in South Australia. John enlisted in the R.A.A.F., being commissioned as a Flying Officer, and spent some time flying the famous Mosquito fighter-bombers. After the war, he spent some time in the family business, and then, with Mary, they took on a development property in the South-East. By 1961, he decided to enter the Anglican ministry, and was ordained in 1964, and after some years at Hornsby, became the Chaplain to the Mowll Retirement Villages. With Mary, they founded the Marantha Home for handicapped people. Their family consists of four sons (the eldest of whom died in infancy) and two daughters.
