The marriage was in Feb 1872 at the parish church in Halifax of Thomas Earnshaw and Betty Sunderland (Mar 1872 Halifax 9a P590). Witnesses were John Sunderland and Mary Ann Sunderland. Thomas was described as 30 Widower and Betty as 40 Spinster. Thomas' last child (John Sunderland Earnshaw) was actually just John Earnshaw, the Sunderland being added later

Death registered Halifax Dec 1904 9a p340 aged 74. Died at Church Hill, Luddenden. Informant was Wm Hy Murgatroyd, son in law - this is husband of Thomas's daughter Martha
