13 Church Hill Luddenden


Thomas and Betty Earnshaw lived at 13 Church Hill, Luddenden from before 1881 until their deaths in 1899 and 1904 respectively. The group of three properties is now listed as a Grade 2 building. The English Heritage entry states

Terrace of 3 dwellings, with underdwellings, now garages. Early - mid C19. Coursed squared atone, stone slate roof 4 storeys, the 2-storey underdwellings back-to- earth. One bay each. Openings have plain stone surrounds, the windows with flat- faced mullions. East front: each underdwelling has a doorway and an inserted garage door. Above, on each floor, is a 5-light window, the central light of the windows on the 2 upper floors wider. Plain gutter brackets on table. Stack to right end of each dwelling. Rear: 2 storeys. Each (upper) dwelling has a door to right of a single-light window and two 2-light windows above. Right gable has watershot stone.
